Questionnaires in VertigoMe: DHI, VSS-SF and HHI

Vestibular clinics often use short questionnaires to measure how dizziness, vertigo and hearing problems affect your life. VertigoMe includes three of them, so you can track your scores over time and show them to your ENT, neurologist, audiologist or vestibular physiotherapist.

The three questionnaires

  1. Dizziness Handicap Inventory (DHI): 25 questions about how dizziness affects your daily life. Scored 0 to 100. Takes most people 4 to 5 minutes.
  2. Vertigo Symptom Scale (VSS-SF): 15 questions about how often symptoms happened in the past month. Scored 0 to 60. About 3 minutes.
  3. Hearing Handicap Inventory (HHI): 25 questions about how hearing affects your daily and social life. Scored 0 to 100. About 4 minutes.

For all three, a lower score is better.

They are not tests that give a diagnosis. They measure how you are doing, so the trend over time is what matters most.

Where to find them

  1. Tap the gear icon in the top-left of the screen.
  2. Tap Profile.
  3. Tap Questionnaires ("DHI, VSS-SF and hearing scores").

The Questionnaires screen shows one card per questionnaire, with your latest score, its band (for example Mild or Moderate) and the date. If you have not taken one yet, it says Not taken yet.

Questionnaires are part of Premium. During your free trial you can use them too.
