If you use more than one device, several may measure the same thing. For example, an Oura ring and an Apple Watch both record sleep. VertigoMe uses one source per metric.
You do not need to set this on day one. When you connect a device, VertigoMe makes it the source for the metrics it supports. Apple Health and Health Connect never take over a metric a connected wearable already provides. If your numbers look odd, here is how to take charge.
How to change the source
The steps are the same on iPhone and Android.
- Open VertigoMe.
- Tap the gear icon in the top-left, then Data and Notifications.
- Find the section with the metric, for example Sleep or Physical Health.
- Under the metric's name there is a small source badge, for example Apple Health, Oura or Garmin.
- If more than one source can provide that metric, the badge has a small down arrow. Tap it.
- A Choose source list opens. Tap the one you want.
The switch on the right turns the metric on or off. Changing the source does not change the switch.
If the badge has no arrow
Only one source can provide that metric right now, so there is nothing to choose. Some badges are fixed by design: Phone for things your phone measures itself, and Reference for weather data.
A practical example
You wear an Apple Watch every day and have just bought an Oura ring. You trust Oura for sleep, but want steps from the watch.
- Under Sleep, tap the badge on Sleep duration and choose Oura.
- Under Physical Health, tap the badge on Steps and choose Apple Health.
Food and periods
The Nutrition and Menstruation rows start on Phone, which means only what you log in VertigoMe. To read them from a food or cycle app, tap the badge and choose Apple Health or Health Connect.
When you disconnect a device
Metrics that came from it move to the next source that can provide them, so your Monitor cards keep working. Data already collected stays in your account.
