To connect Fitbit, MyFitnessPal or a sleep app, VertigoMe does not ask for that app's username and password. You turn on sharing through Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android), and the data flows through. Here is why.
1. Your password stays yours
VertigoMe never sees your Fitbit or MyFitnessPal account. It only sees the numbers those apps have put into your phone's health hub.
2. Fewer accounts to manage
You sign in to each app once, inside that app. You only sign in to VertigoMe for VertigoMe.
3. One control panel
On iPhone, Settings, Apps, Health, Data Access & Devices lists every app that reads or writes your health data. On Android, the Health Connect app does the same. You can switch VertigoMe's access off there at any time.
The four exceptions
Garmin, Oura, Polar and WHOOP connect directly. They share more detail, such as sleep stages, recovery and stress, through their own connection. Even then, you sign in on their own page, not inside VertigoMe, and they give VertigoMe a permission that you can remove from your account with them at any time.
