How the 14-day free trial works

When you create a VertigoMe account you get 14 days of Premium for free. This article explains how that works.

The short version

  1. You sign up.
  2. Premium is on for 14 days. Every Premium feature works.
  3. No card is asked for.
  4. After 14 days the app goes back to the free version on its own.
  5. You are not charged unless you choose to subscribe.

There is no charge at the end of the trial, because no payment method is on file. The trial is the same on iPhone and Android.

What you can use during the trial

Everything in Premium, including:

How to see how many days you have left

A trial banner sits near the top of the Home screen. It shows how many days of Premium are left. In the last 7 days it turns orange and shows a Subscribe button.

You can also open the gear icon at the top left, then Profile. The card under your name says Trial and shows the days left.

What happens at the end

We send two reminders, and neither is a bill:

  1. About three days before the end, a push notification: "3 days left of your free trial".
  2. On the last day, a push saying your free trial ends today or tomorrow.

If a push cannot reach your phone on the last day, we send one email instead.

When the trial ends:

  1. The app switches back to the free version. The first time you open it afterwards, a screen titled Your free trial just ended appears once. Close it with the X if you do not want to subscribe.
  2. Premium features lock again.
  3. Your data is not deleted.
  4. You are not charged.

Subscribing during the trial

You do not have to wait for the trial to end:

  1. Tap the gear icon at the top left, then Profile.
  2. On the card under your name, tap Upgrade.
  3. Tap the Monthly or Yearly plan and confirm with Apple or Google.

Subscribing is a real purchase. The first charge happens straight away, and the store does not add another free period.
