If you see a charge for VertigoMe you did not expect, this article helps you find out what happened and what to do.
First, how charges work
VertigoMe never handles your card. Charges always come from Apple (iPhone) or Google Play (Android). On your statement you may see something like "APPLE.COM/BILL" or "Google Play".
The 14-day free trial cannot charge you. It never asks for a card. A charge always comes from a subscription that was confirmed through Apple or Google.
The most common reasons
1. You subscribed, perhaps during the trial
Subscribing charges on the day you confirm it, then again at each renewal. If you subscribed while the trial was still running, the first charge was on that day, not at the end of the trial.
2. A yearly subscription renewed
The Yearly plan charges once a year. If you subscribed around this time last year, this is the renewal.
3. A monthly subscription renewed
The Monthly plan charges every month on the same day.
4. Someone in your family subscribed
With Apple Family Sharing, a purchase by a family member can be charged to the organiser.
5. An old subscription you forgot
Phone subscriptions keep running until they are cancelled, even if you no longer open the app.
How to check
On iPhone
- Open the Settings app and tap your name.
- Tap Subscriptions, then VertigoMe.
- You will see when it renews or expires.
You can also search your email for receipts from Apple.
On Android
- Open the Play Store and tap your profile picture.
- Tap Payments and subscriptions, then Budget and history.
- Find the VertigoMe charge.
You can also search your email for "Google Play Order".
How to stop future charges
Cancel the subscription before the next renewal date. See Cancelling your subscription (iPhone) or Cancelling your subscription (Android). Cancelling stops the next charge. It does not refund the last one.
How to ask for a refund
Refunds are decided by Apple or Google. We cannot reverse a store charge ourselves.
- Apple: go to reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, find the charge and request a refund.
- Google: go to play.google.com, sign in, open your order history, find the charge and choose Report a problem.
If it still does not make sense
If you checked your subscriptions and never subscribed to VertigoMe Premium, email help@vertigome.com with:
- The exact name on the charge.
- The date and amount.
- The email you use for VertigoMe.
We will look it up and help you sort it out with Apple or Google.
