There is no single right way to sign in. Some people like a password. Others prefer to use an Apple, Google or Facebook account, so there is nothing new to remember. All of these are safe. Pick the one that feels easiest.
If you sign in with Apple, Google or Facebook for the first time, VertigoMe creates your account for you at the same moment.
Step 1: Open VertigoMe
- Tap the VertigoMe icon.
- You see a screen that says Welcome back. If nobody has signed in on this phone before, it says Let's get you set up. instead.
Below the logo there is a language picker. If the app is in the wrong language, tap it and choose yours. The languages are written in their own words, so you can find yours even if you cannot read the current one.
Step 2: Pick how you want to sign in
On iPhone
The buttons, from top to bottom:
- Sign in with Apple, a black button with the Apple logo.
- Continue with Google.
- Continue with Facebook.
- Continue with email.
If you already use your Apple account for the App Store, Sign in with Apple is the simplest.
On Android
The buttons, from top to bottom:
- Continue with Google.
- Continue with Facebook.
- Continue with email.
There is no Apple option on Android. If you use Gmail on this phone, Continue with Google is the simplest.
Under the buttons, a short line says that by continuing you agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy. You can tap either to read it.
Step 3a: Sign in with Apple
- A window slides up showing your Apple account.
- Tap Continue.
- Confirm with Face ID, Touch ID or your passcode.
- The window closes and you are signed in.
Step 3b: Continue with Google
- A list of the Google accounts on your phone appears.
- Tap the one you want to use.
- The window closes and you are signed in.
If no accounts show up, your phone does not have a Google account set up. Use another option instead.
Step 3c: Continue with Facebook
- Facebook asks you to confirm that VertigoMe may use your login.
- Confirm, and you come back to VertigoMe signed in.
Step 3d: Continue with email
- Two boxes appear: Email and Password.
- Type the email and password you chose when you made your account.
- Tap the small eye icon in the password box if you want to see what you typed.
- Tap Sign in.
To go back to the other options, tap ← Back to sign in options at the top.
If you do not remember your password, tap Forgot password? under the password box. Type your email on the Reset password screen and tap Send link.
Step 4: You are signed in
The first time, the app takes you through a short setup. After that, it opens on Home, the middle tab at the bottom of the screen.
To sign out later, tap the gear icon at the top left of any tab, then tap Logout.
If it says the login details are wrong
Usually the email or password is slightly off. Try again slowly and watch for:
- A capital letter where there should not be one.
- A space at the end of the email.
- The number zero where you meant the letter O.
If it still does not work, use Forgot password?. That is what it is there for.
