If you are reading this during a spin, please stop and get safe first. Sit or lie down, hold on to something steady, and keep your head still. Looking at a screen can make dizziness worse. One tap is all you need right now. The details can wait.
These steps are the same on iPhone and Android.
One tap: start the spin
- Open VertigoMe. You land on the Home tab.
- Near the top, under Quick log, there is a row of round buttons. Tap Spin, the first one.
- A timer screen opens that says Spin in progress, with the time it started. The spin is already saved.
You can put the phone down now. Close the timer with the X at the top if you like. The spin keeps running in the background.
When the spin passes
You have two ways to end it:
- On the timer screen, tap End spin. Then tap Add details if you feel up to it, or Skip to add them later.
- On Home, a Spin in progress card has taken the place of the Quick log row. Tap End now on it.
If you started a spin by mistake, tap Discard on the timer screen.
If you have just taken something
On the Spin in progress card on Home, the round buttons let you add a Medicine or Relief to the running spin with the time set to now. More shows the rest.
Another fast way, from the Log tab
On the Log tab, tap the big Log Spin card. The first step has a Tap now: fill in later button. One tap saves a spin starting now and takes you back to Home.
You can stop here
One tap is enough. The time is recorded. When you feel better, perhaps tomorrow, you can add the rest: how bad it was, what kind of spin, the position it started in, what you think set it off and what helped. See How to log a spin.
When to get help straight away
Most spins pass on their own. Please call your local emergency number if dizziness comes with a sudden severe headache, double vision, slurred speech, a drooping face, weakness or numbness on one side, or if you cannot stand or walk. See When to see a doctor about vertigo.
