If you expected a notification from VertigoMe and nothing arrived, the cause is almost always a setting. Missing notifications never means lost data. Work through these steps in order.
Step 1: Do Not Disturb or Focus
- iPhone: swipe down from the top-right to open Control Centre. If Focus or the moon is highlighted, tap it to turn it off.
- Android: swipe down from the top. If Do Not Disturb or Bedtime mode is on, tap it to turn it off.
Step 2: Phone permission
- iPhone: Settings, Notifications, VertigoMe. Allow Notifications should be green.
- Android: Settings, Apps, VertigoMe, Notifications. Show notifications should be on.
Step 3: In-app settings
- Tap the gear icon, then Data and Notifications.
- On the Notifications card, the Notification permission row should say Granted. If it says Allow, tap it.
- Check the row for the notification you expected. For risk alerts, Daily risk alerts must not be Off. For trigger alerts, the bell must be on for that trigger in Manage Items.
Step 4: Location and time zone
The 8 pm reminder is timed using the time zone from your daily location. If location is off for VertigoMe, the evening reminder may not arrive. Allow location (see "Letting VertigoMe use your location for weather") and check your phone's date and time are set automatically:
- iPhone: Settings, General, Date & Time, Set Automatically.
- Android: Settings, System, Date and time, Automatic date and time.
Step 5: Open the app once
Notifications are tied to your phone through the app. Open VertigoMe, stay a few seconds, then close it. This refreshes the link.
Step 6: Restart your phone
A restart fixes most stubborn cases. Open VertigoMe once afterwards.
Still nothing?
Email help@vertigome.com with your phone model, whether it is iPhone or Android, and the step you tried last.
A note
VertigoMe is quiet by design. Often there is simply nothing to say: your risk stayed below your alert level, and no trigger with a bell fired.
