When a spin hits, the last thing you want is a complicated app. VertigoMe has quick ways to log while you are dizzy, and a full guided log for when you are ready to add the details. You can always come back and add more later.
These steps are the same on iPhone and Android.
Three ways to log
1. The Quick log row on Home. Near the top of Home is a row of round buttons: Spin, Headache (if it applies to your subtype), Trigger, Prodrome, Medicine and Relief. Tapping Spin starts a spin straight away and opens a timer. The other buttons save in one tap with the time set to now. If you have starred favourites, a small sheet lets you pick which one first.
2. Quick Log on the Log tab. Tap Log at the bottom of the screen. Under the Log Spin and Daily Check-In cards is a Quick Log grid. The Spin card lets you set how bad it was, the kind of spin and any symptoms, with the time and a note. See Quick Log on the Log tab.
3. The full Log Spin guide. The big Log Spin card at the top of the Log tab walks you through the whole spin: timing, a free description, the spin itself, symptoms, warning signs, triggers, medicines, reliefs, where you were, what you were doing, recovery, what you missed and notes. Every step is optional.
The quickest full log
- Tap the Log tab.
- Tap Log Spin.
- On the first step, tap Tap now: fill in later. A spin starting now is saved, and you go back to Home.
If the spin started earlier, use the timer or tap Edit times manually to set the Start and End (optional), then tap Next.
Ending a spin
While a spin is open, Home shows a Spin in progress card in place of the Quick log row.
- Tap End now when it passes.
- Tap Full log to open the guide and add details.
- The round buttons add a Medicine, Relief or symptom to the running spin. More shows the rest.
Adding the full details
You can do this during the spin or days later.
- Open the Journal tab.
- Find the spin and tap the ⋯ menu on its card, then Edit. The full guide opens with what you have logged so far.
- Change anything, go through to Review and tap Update spin log.
To add just one thing to a saved spin, tap + Add on its Journal card and pick what to add.
The steps of the full guide
- Timing: when it started and ended. There is a timer you can start and stop, and an Exercises shortcut if you are doing a repositioning manoeuvre for this spin.
- Paint the picture: describe the spin in your own words, or tap Voice and speak. Find matches fills in the next steps for you.
- Spin: Spin severity from 0 to 10, and the kind of spin (room spinning, rocking, unsteadiness and so on). Add another entry if it changed.
- Headache: rate any head pain and mark where it hurt. This page only shows if it applies to your subtype, unless you turn it on.
- Symptoms: the Position when it started (rolling over in bed, looking up and so on) and anything alongside, such as nausea or tinnitus.
- Prodromes: warning signs before the spin.
- Triggers: what may have contributed.
- Medicines and Reliefs: what you took or did, and how much it helped.
- Locations and Activities: where you were and what you were doing.
- Postdrome: how you felt afterwards.
- Missed activities: what the spin made you skip.
- Notes: anything else.
Finish on Review and tap Save spin log.
You can hide pages you never use or change their order with the pencil on the Log Spin card (Customize log pages). Review is always last.
Deleting a spin
- Open the Journal tab.
- Tap the ⋯ menu on the spin's card, then Delete.
- A box asks Delete entry? Tap Delete to confirm. This cannot be undone.
