How to log a relief

A relief is anything you do, other than medicine, that helps. Lying still with your head fixed, a dark quiet room, slow breathing, fresh air, ginger, sleep or a repositioning manoeuvre all count. Logging these helps you and your doctor see what really works for you.

These steps are the same on iPhone and Android.

The one-tap way, from Home

Tap Relief in the Quick log row on Home. Pick a favourite if you have them. Otherwise a general relief is saved with the time set to now.

The detailed way, from the Log tab

  1. Tap the Log tab.
  2. In Quick Log, tap the green Relief card. A screen titled Quick Relief opens.
  3. Under Which one?, tap the relief you used.

How long it lasted

  1. When did it start? is set to now. Tap to change it.
  2. When did you stop? (optional) lets you set an end time.
  3. Or type minutes in Or duration (minutes, optional).

Some reliefs are simply taken rather than done for a while, such as water or electrolytes. For those the duration fields do not appear.

How much it helped

Under How much relief?, tap None, Low, Mild or High. Be honest. If something helps only a little, say so.

Side effects and notes

Most reliefs have no side effects, so you can leave Any side effects? alone. Add a note in Notes if you like.

Save

Tap Log Relief. To leave without saving, tap Cancel.

Exercises count too

When you finish a guided exercise from the Exercises row on Home, such as an Epley manoeuvre, the round is logged for you as a relief.

If your relief is not in the list

Tap the gear icon, then Manage Items, then Reliefs, and add it there.

What happens after you save

  1. The relief appears in the Journal tab.
  2. Insights uses your reliefs to show what helps you most.
