If you paid for VertigoMe Premium but the app still asks you to pay, your money is safe. The cause is nearly always a mismatch between the store account you paid with and the VertigoMe account you are signed in to. Here is how to sort it, simplest first.
The steps differ between iPhone and Android, because Apple and Google each handle subscriptions their own way.
Step 1: Check which accounts you are using
There are two separate accounts on your phone:
- The Apple ID or Google account that pays for apps and subscriptions.
- The VertigoMe account you sign in to the app with (your email, or Apple, Google or Facebook sign-in).
To see your VertigoMe account, tap the gear icon in the top-left, then Profile. Your email is shown under your name. The plan card below it shows Premium, Trial or Free Plan.
To see your store account:
- iPhone: open Settings and tap your name at the top.
- Android: open Settings, then Accounts (or Passwords & accounts).
Step 2: Tap "Restore purchases"
This asks the store whether you have paid and brings the subscription back into the app.
- Tap the gear icon, then Profile.
- On the plan card, tap Upgrade to open the VertigoMe Premium screen.
- Scroll down and tap Restore purchases.
- Wait a few seconds. If it works, you see Premium restored ✓. If it says Nothing to restore, go to Step 3.
Step 3: Use the store account that paid
On iPhone
- Open the App Store and tap your profile picture.
- Is the email shown the one that bought VertigoMe Premium?
- If not, sign out there and sign in with the right Apple ID.
- Go back to VertigoMe and tap Restore purchases again (Step 2).
On Android
- Open Google Play and tap your profile picture.
- Tap the arrow next to your name and pick the Google account that bought VertigoMe Premium.
- Go back to VertigoMe and tap Restore purchases again.
Step 4: Check the subscription is still active
A subscription can stop without you noticing, for example when a card expires.
- iPhone: open Settings, tap your name, then Subscriptions. Check whether VertigoMe is listed as active or expired.
- Android: open Google Play, tap your profile picture, then Payments & subscriptions, then Subscriptions.
If it has expired or been cancelled, you can restart it from there.
Step 5: Sign in to the VertigoMe account you subscribed with
Your Premium is tied to the VertigoMe account you were signed in to when you subscribed. A different email will not see it.
- Open VertigoMe.
- Tap the gear icon in the top-left of the screen. The Settings drawer slides in from the left.
- Tap Logout.
- Sign back in the same way you signed up (email, Apple, Google or Facebook).
- Open Profile, tap Upgrade and tap Restore purchases.
Who handles the money?
VertigoMe does not take subscription payments directly. Apple handles them on iPhone and Google Play on Android. That is why most fixes are Restore purchases or a check in the App Store or Google Play. We can see what is happening from our side, but we cannot move payments between accounts.
If none of these work
Write to us at help@vertigome.com with:
- Your phone make and model
- The email you sign in to VertigoMe with
- The Apple ID or Google account you paid with, if different
- A screenshot of your subscriptions page in the App Store or Google Play
We will look it up and help you sort it out.
