My spin log will not save

You have filled in your spin, tapped Save spin log, and nothing seems to happen, or you see an error. That is frustrating, especially when you feel unwell. It is usually something small.

The steps are the same on iPhone and Android.

First: check whether it saved

When a spin log saves, VertigoMe closes the log and takes you to the Journal tab.

  1. Open the Journal tab.
  2. Look for the spin you just logged.
  3. If it is there, it saved.

If the save fails, you stay on the Review step and see a box saying "Couldn't save your spin log", with the reason underneath.

Step 1: Check that you are online

VertigoMe needs the internet to save a log.

  1. Open another app, such as your web browser, and load any page.
  2. If nothing loads, move closer to your Wi-Fi or somewhere with signal.
  3. Once you are online, tap Save spin log again on the Review step.

Step 2: Tap Save spin log again

The first tap sometimes does not register, especially on the edge of the button.

  1. Make sure you are on the last step, Review.
  2. Check the summary, then tap Save spin log at the bottom.

If you already left the log and the spin is not in your Journal, start again from the Log tab with Log Spin. A new log always starts empty.

Step 3: Check the timing

  1. Tap the back arrow at the top-left until you reach the first step, Timing.
  2. If you used the timer, check it shows Spin ended. If you set times by hand with Edit times manually, check the Start time. If you leave it empty, VertigoMe uses the moment you save.
  3. If you set an End (optional) time, make sure it is after the start.
  4. Tap Next through to Review and tap Save spin log again.

Step 4: Check that you are still signed in

  1. Close the log and tap the gear icon in the top-left.
  2. If you see the Settings drawer with Logout in it, you are signed in.
  3. If the app has gone back to the sign-in screen, sign in again and log the spin again.

Step 5: Note what you entered, then close and reopen

Closing the app clears the log, so write down the basics first (start time, how bad it was, any triggers).

On iPhone

  1. Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause in the middle.
  2. Find the VertigoMe card and swipe it up off the screen.
  3. Tap the VertigoMe icon to open it again.

On Android

  1. Tap the square button at the bottom (or swipe up and hold).
  2. Find VertigoMe and swipe it away.
  3. Tap the VertigoMe icon to open it again.

Then open the Log tab, tap Log Spin, fill it in again and tap Save spin log.

Step 6: Restart your phone

On iPhone

  1. Press and hold the side button and either volume button until slide to power off appears.
  2. Slide to power off.
  3. Wait about thirty seconds.
  4. Press the side button to turn it back on.

On Android

  1. Press and hold the power button.
  2. Tap Restart. If you only see Power off, tap it, wait a minute, then press the power button again.

Step 7: Try a simpler entry

If only one log refuses to save, try a quick test log with just the timing and severity. If that saves, one field in the bigger entry may be the cause (for example, a very long note). Add details back bit by bit until you find it.

Another option: tap Spin on the Quick log strip on Home. It starts the spin straight away, and you can add the details later from the Journal.

We can usually see from our side why a save did not go through.
