Usually the fix is to sign in to Garmin again from VertigoMe. Garmin asks apps to renew their access every so often. This guide covers that first and then a few other things to try.
Start with Step 1. If it works, you are done.
The steps are the same on iPhone and Android.
Step 1: Check that Garmin Connect has today's data
- Open the Garmin Connect app on your phone.
- Pull down on the top of the screen to refresh.
- Look at today's screen. Can you see your sleep, steps and heart numbers?
- If you cannot, the gap is between your watch and Garmin Connect. Charge the watch, keep it near your phone and open Garmin Connect so it can sync.
If Garmin Connect has the data but VertigoMe does not, go to Step 2.
Step 2: Reconnect Garmin inside VertigoMe
The Garmin card has two buttons. Connect (or Connected) is the health data link. Pair watch is only for the VertigoMe app on a Garmin watch, so leave that one alone for this fix.
- Open VertigoMe.
- Tap the gear icon in the top-left of the screen. The Settings drawer slides in from the left.
- Tap Connections.
- Find the Garmin card. Look at the button on the right of the card.
- If the button says "Connect", Garmin is not connected right now. Tap it. A box asks "Connect Garmin?" and explains what VertigoMe reads. Tap Continue. Garmin's own sign-in page opens. Sign in and approve access for VertigoMe. The button should now read "Connected".
- If the button already says "Connected" but no data is arriving, disconnect and connect again. Tap Connected. A box asks "Disconnect Garmin?". Tap Disconnect. The button changes back to "Connect". Tap it and sign in again, as in point 5.
Wait a few minutes, then check the Monitor tab.
Step 3: Refresh the Monitor tab
- Open the Monitor tab.
- Put your finger near the top of the screen, slide it down a few centimetres and let go.
- Wait about ten seconds while the cards reload.
This works the same way on iPhone and Android.
Step 4: Check the time of day
Garmin can take an hour or two after you wake up to finish last night's sleep. If it shows up after lunch, that was the reason.
Step 5: Make sure Garmin is the chosen source
- Tap the gear icon in the top-left.
- Tap Data and Notifications.
- Scroll through the sections (Sleep, Physical Health, Cognitive, Environment and so on), or type the metric name in the Search… box near the top.
- Each metric row shows a small coloured source badge under its name (for example "Garmin" or "Phone").
- When more than one connected source can feed that metric, the badge has a small arrow. Tap it, and in the Choose source box pick Garmin.
Step 6: Force-close VertigoMe and open it again
On iPhone
- Swipe up from the bottom of the screen and pause in the middle.
- Find the VertigoMe card and swipe it up off the screen.
- Tap the VertigoMe icon to open it again.
On Android
- Tap the square button at the bottom (or swipe up and hold).
- Find VertigoMe and swipe it away.
- Tap the VertigoMe icon to open it again.
Step 7: Sign out and back in
- Open VertigoMe.
- Tap the gear icon in the top-left of the screen. The Settings drawer slides in from the left.
- Tap Logout.
- Sign back in the same way you signed up (email, Apple, Google or Facebook).
- Go back to gear icon, Connections and tap Connect on the Garmin card if it asks.
Step 8: Reinstall VertigoMe
Your spins and settings are stored in your VertigoMe account, so deleting the app does not delete them.
- Press and hold the VertigoMe icon.
- Tap Delete app (iPhone) or Uninstall (Android).
- Open the App Store or Google Play, search for VertigoMe and install it again.
- Sign in with the same account you used before.
- Reconnect Garmin using Step 2.
If none of these work
Write to us at help@vertigome.com and include:
- Your phone make and model
